Transport Statements / Transport Assessments
The UK Government defines Transport Assessments and Statements in their latest guidance as being:
"...ways of assessing and mitigating the negative transport impacts of development in order to promote sustainable development. They are required for all developments which generate significant amounts of movement."
The guidance goes on to state that:
"Transport Assessments are thorough assessments of the transport implications of development, and Transport Statements are a ‘lighter-touch’ evaluation to be used where this would be more proportionate to the potential impact of the development (ie in the case of developments with anticipated limited transport impacts)."
